Skiathos is a relatively small island in the group of five known as the Sporades. Skiathos is the closest to the mainland and the most visited out of the group, thanks to its international airport. One can also fly to Athens, drive to Agios Kostantinos and then take a hydrofoil or ferry to Skiathos. Green, gently undulating, forested with sweet smelling pines and ringed with soft, wide sandy beaches with shallow, warm blue water, Skiathos is the beach capital of Greece. Life happens on the south side of the island – the north is exposed to the wind and is only visited for the sake of its lovely views. 
Villa Lida is perfectly fitted in its beautiful natural setting. The buildings are discreet, built to the highest specifications, and quietly dispersed in the gloriously planted grounds. Paths meander through the scented shrubs and climbers, and trees provide shade and cool. One path goes right down to a beautiful little sandy beach that is set with palm-frond umbrellas and deckchairs and another goes to the pool area, and winds around the property up to the drive. The island offers a great variety of exhilarating water sports, day cruises and vivid beach bars, whereas for those who appreciate privacy, the beaches of Elia, Mandráki, Agkistros, Small and Big Asélinos in the western part of the island will make you wish you never leave.
